Privacy
Last updated: 5 October 2026No ads, no tracking cookies, nothing sold or shared. We store what you choose to give us: links you submit, and your Google name and email if you log in. Everything runs on our own servers in the EU.
Who runs this
Odbudowa Świątyni / Archiwum is a volunteer archive run by akabor3. Contact: archiwum@borowyalan.com. That is also the address for any request below.
Browsing without an account
- Visitor statistics. We use Umami, self-hosted on our own server. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. It sees the page address, referrer, browser, device type and country, and uses your IP address only to work out the country and count unique visits. The raw IP is not stored. We only ever see totals ("120 visits today"), never individuals.
- Error reports. If the page breaks, a report goes to our own error tracker (GlitchTip, self-hosted). It includes what went wrong and your browser type. It excludes cookies, your identity and your IP.
- Server logs. Like any website, our server briefly logs requests, including IP addresses, to fight abuse and fix problems. These logs are deleted after 14 days.
- Your browser's storage. The site remembers small things locally, such as which sections you collapsed and whether you've already seen the login prompt. This stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
If you log in
Login is optional and goes through Google. We receive and store:
- your email address, name and profile picture from Google;
- the nickname and "stay anonymous" setting, if you set them;
- the videos and recipes you submitted, and your favourites.
What others see: next to things you added, "added by" shows your nickname, or your first name if you haven't set one. Turn on "stay anonymous" and everyone sees "Anonymous" instead, including on the leaderboard. Your email and full name are never shown publicly.
Cookies: logging in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days, plus a short-lived one (5 minutes) used only during the Google login itself. Both are strictly necessary, which is why there's no cookie banner.
When someone creates an account, the admin gets a private notification with the new user's name.
What you submit
- Links you submit (YouTube videos, recipes) are downloaded and kept in the archive for good. Preservation is the whole point.
- Feedback sent through the feedback form is delivered to the admin via Telegram. Don't put anything private in it.
Content we archive about other people
The archive keeps copies of public material that is at risk of disappearing: YouTube videos and their metadata, and recipes from przyslijprzepis.pl, including the author's username and name and the public comments. We keep this because it's culturally valuable and would otherwise be lost, and we always credit and link the original author and source.
If something here is about you and you want it removed or anonymised, write to archiwum@borowyalan.com and we'll handle it.
Where your data lives
We don't sell or share data with anyone else, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.
Why we're allowed to (GDPR)
- Your account and submissions: to provide the service you signed up for (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Statistics, error reports, logs, and archiving public material: our legitimate interest in running, securing and improving a non-profit archive (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email archiwum@borowyalan.com. Deleting your account removes your email, name and picture. Your past submissions stay in the archive, shown as "Anonymous". You can also complain to the Polish data protection authority (UODO, uodo.gov.pl).
Browser extension
The Chrome/Firefox extension runs only on YouTube video pages. On each one it asks our server whether that video is already in the archive, so the button can show its status. That check sends only the video's ID, not your identity, and we don't keep a history of what you watched. The full link is submitted only when you click "Archive". The extension sees nothing on other sites.
